(Where it all started)

In May 1983, Bishop obtained his local minister's license with the UPCI. February 1985, he and his wife began full-time evangelizing, a journey that lasted five years. During this time, they conducted several revivals in the beautiful city of Lexington. When the current Pastor and his wife chose to relocate, they were invited to take over the pastorate, and a wonderful congregation of about 12 members voted them in. On April 19, 1990, they held their first service as the Pastors of Landmark UPC.

In 1999, Landmark acquired 21 acres of land and constructed 208 Landmark Place, which quickly filled with worshippers. By 2016, plans were underway for a new building, and in 2017, the sanctuary at 210 Landmark Place was completed.

Bishop carried on his revival by establishing a beautiful church and becoming a published author several books (see Landmark Store). He passed away in May 2025, but before his departure, he successfully transitioned his son Carson who had been serving as Assistant Pastor since 2017, to Pastor on May 4th, 2025. We honor his legacy and continue the revival he started on April 19, 1990.
