The History of
LANDMARK
In May of 1983, I received my local ministers license with the UPCI. In February 1985 my wife and I started evangelizing full time. We did this for 5 years holding revivals in over 18 states. While evangelizing we were able to hold several revivals in the beautiful city of Lexington. When the present Pastor and his wife decided to relocate, we were asked to assume the pastorate. A wonderful congregation of around 12 members voted us in. On April 19, 1990 we preached our first service as Pastor of Landmark UPC.
We were soon able to renovate, paint, and spruce up the place in preparation for growth and revival.
In 1999, we purchased land and built a new sanctuary on 21 acres. We celebrated on Pentecost Sunday with over 400 in attendance!
Our greatest attendance so far is 1,016, which was our Easter Sunday morning service. Not only was it a community and celebration of the Lord's resurrection; but 5 people received the gift of the Holy Ghost as well!
Through the years we have been blessed to see several people receive the Holy Ghost and be baptized in Jesus Name. To God be the Glory.
All are welcome at Landmark. We believe that everyone is a divine design by God and is a fingerprint of his greatness. No matter what nationality, creed, or race you have a home at Landmark.
